There are over 300 photographs of Hella Jongerius' work, arranged by colour. The author of the book is Louise Schouwenberg and the design was created by Dutch graphic designer Irma Boom. Misfit also contains contributions from the design critic Alice Rawsthorn and Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator in the Department of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Hella Jongerius: Misfit is itself a Hella Jongerius design, as Jongerius developed the straightforward, innovative book layout with well-known graphic designer Irma Boom.
